Preparing for Coronavirus (COVID-19)

As the impact of COVID-19 is felt across the globe, we’d like to assure you that Hawaiian Electric Employees FCU continues to operate and is here to continue serving your financial needs. During this rapidly evolving situation, our main priority is the health, safety, and well-being of our members and staff.

Practice safe banking

Our branch currently is open to serve you without interruption. However, we encourage you to use self-service and non-contact options to fulfill your banking needs.

  • Use  Online and Mobile Banking services to check balances, transfer funds or make loan payments from your account.
  • Instead of visiting the Credit Union branch, utilize any ASB surcharge-free ATM available throughout the islands to withdraw cash from your checking or savings account. Remember to sanitize your hands afterward.
  • Utilize our digital methods to sign your HECOEFCU paperwork (example: loan documents) in just a few minutes online.

We’re here to support you

Should you or your family be impacted by COVID-19 and need financial support, we’re here to help. Members of our team are ready to provide you with financial guidance and discuss the possibility of financial arrangements to help you through this difficult time.

Be aware of scammers

Please also be on the alert for scammers, who are looking to take advantage of the situation. Some of them are impersonating health officials or making donation requests to pledge toward emergency funds. Do not open unfamiliar e-mails or click the links within these messages. The FTC has information available on How to Recognize and Avoid Phishing Scams and Coronavirus scams – what the FTC is doing.

Steps we are taking

Please rest assured that we have taken the necessary steps to serve you safely and securely. In addition to meeting your in-branch, online, and mobile banking needs, HECOEFCU is well prepared to help you without interruption in service. We’ve enhanced cleaning at our location, implemented best practices, and added hand sanitizing stations to help keep employees and our members in good health.

We will continue to monitor the situation closely and evaluate additional measures to support our members and community as needs arise. Please continue to visit for regular updates.

For additional information about COVID-19, we recommend visiting the CDC website as well as the Hawai`i State Department of Health website.
